About Marietta Tree Service

We are a professional tree service based in Marietta, working across Cobb County and just over the lines into Cherokee and Fulton. Removal, storm work, pruning, stumps and clearing. Owner-run, licensed and insured, and small enough that the person who quotes your job is connected to the crew that does it.

How we price

Every estimate is free, on site, and written down before anything starts. It is itemised — removal, stump, debris, extras — so you can compare it honestly against any other bid. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice unless you add work. We do not discover extra charges on the day, and we do not inflate a storm invoice because an insurer is paying it.

Things we will not do

• Top a tree. Cutting limbs back to stubs removes the tree's ability to feed itself, forces weak regrowth and opens wounds too large to close. Topped trees fail more, not less. If a tree is too big for its spot, we will offer proper crown reduction or removal, and explain the difference.
• Recommend a removal that is not needed. A fair number of the trees we are called out to look at need deadwooding and roof clearance, not a chainsaw. We will say so, and we will accept the smaller job.
• Work a tree in contact with a live primary line. That is utility work. Georgia Power or Cobb EMC handles it, and anyone who says otherwise is gambling with your property.
• Use climbing spikes on a tree we are not removing. Every step is a puncture wound in the cambium.
• Take a deposit to hold a date and disappear. Storm season brings that out, and it is worth being wary of from anyone.

Insurance, and why you should ask everyone about it

We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we hand over certificates before work begins. Ask every company you get a quote from to do the same — current, and naming you. This is not paperwork theatre. If an uninsured crew drops a limb through your roof, that becomes your claim. If someone is injured in your yard without workers' comp behind them, that can land on your homeowner's policy too. It is the single biggest reason one bid comes in dramatically below the others.

Why local knowledge changes the work

Cobb County is red clay under water oak, willow oak, loblolly pine, sweetgum and tulip poplar, and each of those has a specific way of failing. Water oaks hollow from the inside around fifty to sixty years old, which is exactly the age of the ones across most of our older subdivisions. Loblollies uproot in saturated clay when the wind arrives after several inches of rain. Bradford pears split at the union in ice. Pines exposed by clearing next door become far more likely to go over.

Knowing that changes how a tree gets assessed, how it gets rigged, and what we tell you to worry about. It is the difference between a crew that cuts trees and one that reads them first.

What working with us looks like

You call or send the details. We come out, walk it, and write a price. On crew day, property protection goes down first, the tree comes apart in controlled sections, and everything gets chipped, raked and blown before we load up — we walk the site with you before we leave. Stump grinding, if it is on the quote, happens the same visit.
