Terms of service

These terms apply to the use of this website and to estimates and work provided by Marietta Tree Service. They are intended to be clear rather than exhaustive; the written estimate you sign governs the specific job.
Estimates
Site visits and written estimates are free and carry no obligation. An estimate reflects the scope described on it and is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Work outside that scope — additional trees, a stump not originally quoted, conditions that could not reasonably be seen during the visit — is quoted and agreed before it is carried out.
Scheduling and weather
Tree work is weather-dependent. High wind, lightning and saturated ground make aerial work unsafe, and we will reschedule rather than proceed in those conditions. Emergency response during widespread storm events is prioritised by danger to people and occupied structures, so arrival windows given at those times are estimates made in good faith.
Property access and preparation
You agree to provide safe access to the work area, to move vehicles as requested, to keep people and pets clear, and to identify anything underground or otherwise hidden — irrigation lines, invisible fencing, septic tanks and field lines, low-voltage wiring, drainage. We call 811 for public utility locates where required; privately installed lines are not covered by that system and we rely on you to point them out.
Property ownership and permissions
You confirm that you own the trees to be worked on, or have the owner's authority. Where a job requires a permit, HOA approval or a neighbour's permission to rig over their land, responsibility for obtaining it rests with the property owner, though we are glad to prepare the arborist documentation and can file applications on request.
Insurance and liability
We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance, and certificates are available before work begins. We are responsible for damage caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, for damage to items not disclosed to us, or for normal and unavoidable marking of lawn and soil that occurs during heavy work and recovers naturally.
Tree condition
Assessments describe a tree's visible condition at the time of inspection. Internal decay and root defects are not always detectable without invasive testing, and no assessment can guarantee that a tree will not fail. Trees are living structures affected by weather, soil and time.
Payment
Payment terms are stated on your estimate and are normally due on completion. Larger projects may be scheduled in stages with progress payments agreed in advance.
Cancellation
Let us know as early as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule. Where specialist equipment such as a crane has already been booked on your behalf, costs incurred may be chargeable.
